Advanced Dutch Course – Focus and Finesse

Learning Method for Advanced Dutch Courses

We offer our Dutch courses online, face-to-face or as a combination of online and face-to-face sessions. This flexibility allows you to organise your Dutch language learning around your busy schedule. Our online CoBuild Connect Learning Space is at the heart of all of our courses. Here you will find all of the course content that will help you to further improve your Dutch outside your online or face-to-face sessions.

In both our contact sessions and learning space we mainly work task-based. This means that we will ask you to do practical and appealing tailor-made exercises and assignments to improve your basic Dutch listening, speaking, reading and/or writing skills for the real-life situations that are relevant to you.

Options for Advanced Dutch Courses

Our Dutch courses for advanced learners are available as individual, duo and group courses. Incompany courses are available on request. An optimal CoBuild Dutch course consists of a combination of face-to-face and online sessions. However, a fully online Dutch course of just one type of session is also very well possible in some cases. Depending on your learning objectives and availability, you will be recommended a suitable amount and composition of sessions

Since we encourage joint learning in a stimulating environment, we request participants to form duos and groups with friends, colleagues, relatives, spouses as much as possible. We will always make sure that the entry levels and the learning objectives of the participants match up. As with individual courses, the participants of duo and group courses can decide when to start their course and to plan their course sessions.

Tailor-Made Material for Advanced Dutch Courses

With our online CoBuild Connect Learning Space you will be enabled to continue your Dutch learning beyond contact hours with learning content that is 100% relevant to you! You will be offered a selection of tailor-made tasks (exercises and assignments) and references to other functional materials that will help you to (further) improve your Dutch. You will get written/spoken feedback on your task performances and after each contact session new learning content will be added to the learning space.

Examples of Learning Objectives

I would like to improve my speaking and listening skills, so that I can interact with Dutch-speaking people more spontaneously and confidently. I also would like to be able to solve problems more effectively. Think about calls with my internet provider, making phone calls to my health care insurance company or making medical appointments.
I would like to further improve my speaking skills in social situations, so that I can feel more ‘at home’ in the Dutch language. Eventually, I would like to be able to use Dutch as my second language. In order to accomplish this, I would like to learn to use more complex grammar, figurative language and a wider variety of (thematic) vocabulary.
My first priority is to build more confidence using the Dutch language in general. I would like to socially interact with my Dutch friends about issues that concern our children, families and current affairs/the news. On a professional level, I would like to further improve my reading, listening and speaking skills up to a level at which I can fully understand, thoroughly analyse and discuss (academic) articles and other media related to my field of research.
